Weekly Wednesday #7: Embrace Being a Beginner
Happy Wednesday!
Sorry for the late email this week. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I'll be celebrating it with my lady, so today, I spent some time with the fam and am finally getting around to this.
I'll keep this one short, as I'm already in birthday mode. Instead of talking about something I read in a book or some study, I'll talk about what's going on with me this week. What have I been up to? Posting on Instagram.
I'll be the first to admit I have no idea what I'm doing, and the thought of posting videos giving advice to people who mostly don't care is intimidating. It can be tough putting yourself out there and learning something new in a public setting. I'm a beginner at it, and that can be embarrassing.
But you know, I said fuck it and started posting.
And you know what? It's been a pretty positive experience so far. People have been supportive, no one died, and I'm having fun with it.
And here's the best part of the whole thing: I already want to get better. I'm watching YouTube videos, reading articles, and bought a $15 Udemy course, which I haven't touched yet but plan to this week.
It's been a blast. Learning about the process hasn't felt like a chore; it's been invigorating. It's a challenge—one that I chose for myself and one that I'm willing to take on.
I'm committed to focusing on the process, not the results. Even if I get only 1 or 2 likes on a video and no one gives a shit, I'm still me.
Maybe I'll never get the hang of it, and my videos will always suck, but hey, at least I'm giving it a shot, and you know what? I'm pretty damn proud of that.
See you next week,
Andrew
